Dog Pregnancy Calculator by Breed
Pick your dog’s breed for a calculator tuned to it — the same accurate due-date math, plus the typical litter size, whelping-risk notes, and care plan for that breed.
Choose your dog’s breed
Each breed page below opens the full calculator with the breed already selected, so the result includes that breed’s typical litter size and whelping-risk notes. Breeds are grouped by size, because size class — not breed name — drives litter size and care needs.

Does breed change the length of pregnancy?
No. This is the most common myth about dog pregnancy. A Chihuahua and a Great Dane are both pregnant for about 63 days from ovulation. What breed does change is the litter size (toy breeds often have 1 to 4 puppies, large breeds 8 or more), the whelping risk (flat-faced breeds such as the French Bulldog and Bulldog often need a planned caesarean section), and the care needs (giant breeds need larger whelping boxes and closer monitoring for late-pregnancy calcium problems). That is exactly what each breed page personalizes.
Frequently Asked Questions
